Spreegold

Become a hotspot. With Hotspot.

Checking mails while out and about, or surfing your favourite blog – totally natural and indispensable these days. The same applies to good food in a relaxed atmosphere. The two together can only be successful. Precisely that is achieved by Café Spreegold, with a total of three branches in Berlin Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg. Sipping from a large latte while being immersed in another world – that also appeals to Mirko Zarnojanzyk and Ralf Steinacker, the managers of Spreegold. Just recently they expanded their café chain, which has been in existence for seven years, by a further indispensable component: Wi-Fi. They believe it is important that everyone finds their place here – irrespective of whether freelancer or globetrotter. Coffee to go is a thing of the past. Now it is important to take time for extravagant things, such as the homemade Mississippi Mud Pie – without having to miss out on work, or social media contacts.

DRF Air Rescue

M2M helps when seconds make a difference

Safety through efficiency. The emergency personnel of DRF Air Rescue know that that is the only way. With 31 bases in Germany and Austria, the 1,240 employees bear a very large responsibility. They know that every second matters in their job. More than 50 helicopters must be ready for operation at every time. That is especially crucial to pilots and their most important passengers, the emergency doctors and paramedics. Permanent maintenance is therefore essential, for example to ensure that helicopters do not need to be replaced at short notice. The new networking technology by Deutsche Telekom means that this now not only works more efficiently, but also more cheaply. In order to detect critical values in a timely manner and to avoid damages, the technicians of DRF Air Rescue have recently started using a Machine to Machine (M2M) solution by Deutsche Telekom. This now allows them to monitor the condition of important components online.

Kallisto

Bear-sized turnover overnight

Big button eyes, long fluffy ears, and loads of character. Those are the many large and small faces of Brigitte Meiners’ hand puppets and teddy bears. The entrepreneur also produces cuddly blankets lovingly by hand. Children know what they want. It is important to the toy manufacturer Kallisto to use organic materials. After all, the fluffy friends accompany their greatest fans everywhere. Brigitte Meiners doesn’t have the time to sell her toys in her own retail store or online shop. That is done by 34 sales partners. But how do potential customers know where to buy the soft toys by Kallisto? Here, the decisive information channel is the company’s own internet presence – hosted by Telekom. This allows Kallisto introduce each new character to the range without any difficulty, and thus to concentrate on the quality of the toys.

Conpetition

Cloud & Business Marketplace - Working with the cloud on the road

If you spend a lot of time traveling on business, you don’t have to do without your important data. New complete Telekom packages mean SMEs are more than ready for mobile work. The experts at management consultancy Competition often travel around Europe for their clients. Faraway from their headquarters they want to have access to the company’s knowledge center at all times. Which is why Conpetition relies on the cloud – or to be more precise on the cloud apps Box and Office 365 from Telekom’s business marketplace. With Office 365 the company stores documents on a central online platform. Using Box the consultants can work together with their clients on projects and share the results via links in the cloud. Holger Becker (co-founder and CEO of Conpetition): “This means we work faster and more efficiently. I can log in from anywhere and access my data, with whatever device I choose.” (Photo: Conpetition)
